After a few days back at home in order to see my cousin who was in town, I headed back out this morning. My father and our neighbor Craig decided they wanted to join me as I departed once again from the Bay Area. It’s always a joy to ride with each of these gentlemen so it was super extra special I got to go with both of them at the same time! (First time riding as the three of us.) My ultimate destination for today was Yosemite and the gents weren’t going to go all they way but they wanted a fun ride, so we decided to take HWY 130 that goes up and over Mt. Hamilton and down into Patterson with the plan of stoping for lunch and parting ways there. We stopped at a nice restaurant called Mil’s Bar and Grill right by 33. After we said our goodbyes I headed for Mariposa via the old highway. Which in retrospect I would not do again. For about 25 miles I felt like I was riding on an old washing board that had a few holes in it. Truly it was really really nice to get back to “actual” pavement. With a quick stop at the Mariposa visitor center I decided I’d brave the traffic and go to the park. I’ve only ever been to Yosemite on the off season so it was a little much dealing with the hordes of tourists. (I know I’m just spoiled!) So I decided to try something new and head up to Glacier Point for sunset. Boy was that a good impulse decision. I still don’t have words to explain, so I’ll let this picture sum up!
So now I’m chilling (literally) and waiting for the stars so I can take some photos. (Look here on the blog soon for pics!)
