Monkey Boy Rides!

A Gentleman And His Automobiles

Our dear friend Kathy is in the San Diego area visiting her family. For years she has tried to get us down to her folks’ place to see her Dad’s car collection but it never quite worked out until now. I was two hours north and had the generous opportunity so I headed down. What a good decision that was! Not only did I get to spend time with my aunty but I got a personalized tour of the collection! Her father’s pure knowledge of these cars is astounding and his connections in the car world run deep. He told me stories of talks with Phil Hill about the Roadster or the various times he competed in the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. His stories and experiences around these fine automobiles run as long as the Missouri River. To have this beautiful moment in time to stand in the museum he calls his garage and hear it all from the man that lived it is truly a once in a lifetime opportunity!
