On my way to Bishop this afternoon I stopped at a viewpoint above the valley to take a break and figure out where I was going to spend the night. After enjoying the view and putting a game plan together I started to gear up. All the sudden an older gentleman appeared on my right. I flipped the face shield of my helmet up and greeted him. In a loud and commanding voice he started to speak to me….. In Italian! After a brief moment of confusion the man’s daughter came over and started translating. It turns out that he rides and is the proud owner of four beautiful motorcycles in Italy. A BMW R65, Yamaha R1, Harley Davidson (unknown model), and last but absolutely not least a 2013 Suzuki DL650 just like mine! After twenty or so minutes of wonderful conversation with him and his family we said our goodbyes and I headed off into the sunset. Again this is a great example of the brother and sisterhood of motorcyclists. Yeah you may have nothing else in common, shoot you may not even speak the same language! But at least you share the same passion and love for the two wheeled vehicle known as the motorcycle!
